It's "OLICIOUS"

Check out this adorable (and tasty) alternative to cake!  The founders of  CakeOLicious  were at The Special Event in New Orleans last week and BOY were they a hit!

I can imagine all sorts of ways to use these pops....  bridal showers......favors.....or how about having waiters pass these out on the dance floor.....or maybe football shaped pops as an alternative to the grooms's cake?  The possibilities are endless!

On a budget? 15,000 Brides Have Discovered This.....

Here is another great take away from last week's  "The Special Event" in New Orleans.

Famed NYC event producer, Michael Cerbelli presented his "Hot Event & Entertainment Ideas: 2010".  One of those tips was directed specifically to those brides on a budget.

Even when you're on a tight budget for your wedding, you want everything to look perfect.  Fiftyflowers.com may be just what you're looking for!  Theur popular "wedding flowers in a box", has nine professionally designed flower collections with customized packages of 3, 6, 10, 20, 30 or 40 pieces including: a brides bouquet, toss bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, corsages and boutonniers.  Just pick your favorite flower type and colors and your Wedding Flower Collection will be expressed delivered to you.

Are you a DIY bride?  If so, you might want to check out Fiftyflowers.com's DIY Wedding Combos.  Select your colors, and Fiftyflowers.com will box and ship fresh cut wedding flowers together in correct quanities for making your own wedding flower arrangements, bridal bouquets, and other wedding flower pieces.  Making it simple, and affordable, for you to "do it yourself".

Over 15,000 brides have used Fiftyflowers.com.  You can read what some of them have to say here.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another one of my favorites from New Orleans.  Let's just say it's going to be "Olicious"!

Who can marry me?

No, I'm not looking for a husband -- I've had one for 25 years this year! This post was prompted by several phone calls we received over the course of the last weeks asking about marriage ceremonies in Indiana; wondering who can perform such a ceremony and how to find someone.

If you don't have a home church or a minister or if you would prefer a civil ceremony, Brides a la mode can help you find the perfect officiant for your wedding vows.  The  law In the State of Indiana says

"Marriages may be solemnized by any of the following:
(1) A member of the clergy of a religious organization (even if the cleric does not perform religious functions for an individual congregation), such as a minister of the gospel, a priest, a bishop, an archbishop, or a rabbi.
(2) A judge.
(3) A mayor, within the mayor's county.
(4) A clerk or a clerk-treasurer of a city or town, within a county in which the city or town is located.
(5) A clerk of the circuit court."

What if you would like a family member to particpate in the ceremony?  Indiana law allows "Any person may conduct or participate in conducting a marriage ceremony. However, a marriage may be solemnized only by a person listed above."

Need more help?  Brides a la mode has a complete list of local courts' phone numbers as well as a lsting of clergy who are available to perform ceremonies.
